This Privacy Policy explains how Janan (“Janan”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), available at doostsho.com and as the Janan mobile app, collects, uses, and protects your information. By creating an account or using Janan, you agree to this Policy. Janan is a social and dating app intended only for adults aged 18 and over.

1.Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to run a safe matching service:

Category	Examples
Account & identity	Mobile phone number and/or email address (used to sign in and, optionally, to verify your account). If you choose “Sign in with Google”, we receive your Google account email address and basic profile information. Also authentication tokens.
Profile content	Display name, age / date of birth, gender, city, bio, interests, and the photos and albums you upload.
Location (optional)	Only if you enable the distance filter: a single approximate (coarse) coordinate, used to show a rough distance to other users who also enabled it. Deleted when you turn it off. Your city is chosen by you, not derived from location. See section 4.
Activity & content	Likes, super-likes, matches, messages, pokes, gifts, games you play, blocks and reports.
Audio & voice	Voice messages you record and send in chat, and your live microphone audio during a Voice Date or inside a voice room. Voice messages are stored so the recipient can play them; live call and voice-room audio is streamed in real time and is not recorded or stored by us. The microphone is used only while you are recording or in a call, never in the background. See section 5.
Verification (optional)	If you choose to verify your account, the selfie photo you submit and the result of an automated check that the image contains a human face. Used only to confirm the account belongs to a real person and to award a verification badge.
Purchases	Records of coin purchases and virtual-item transactions (processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card details).
Device & technical	Device push-notification token, app version, and basic technical/diagnostic data needed to deliver notifications and keep the service working.

2.How We Use Your Information

• Create and operate your account and profile.
• Show you relevant people nearby and enable likes, matches, chat, pokes, gifts, and games.
• Offer optional features such as profile boost, super-likes, rewind, verification badges, and “who liked me”.
• Process purchases of coins and virtual items, and maintain your balance.
• Send you notifications you’ve enabled (matches, messages, likes, pokes).
• Keep the community safe — detect and act on abuse, fraud, spam, and policy violations, and honor blocks and reports.
• Provide customer support and comply with legal obligations.

3.When Your Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only in these ways:

• With other users, by design: your public profile (name, age, city, photos, bio, interests, verification and online status) is visible to other users so they can decide to connect. Messages are shared with the person you’re chatting with.
• Service providers: trusted vendors that help us operate — such as our payment gateway and push-notification/cloud infrastructure — process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal & safety: where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and Janan.

4.Location

Location is entirely optional. Janan works fully without it. We never ask for it at sign-up, and we never collect it in the background or while the app is closed. The app requests only the ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permission — it does not request precise location.

Your city is something you choose yourself from a list when you set up or edit your profile. It is not derived from your device location, and it is shown on your profile.

Separately, you may turn on the optional distance filter. If you do:

• We request approximate (coarse) location only — never precise GPS coordinates.
• We take a single reading at the moment you enable it, and store it as one approximate coordinate pair. There is no continuous or background tracking.
• Other users are never shown your coordinates, address, or map position — only a rough distance (for example, “about 5 km away”).
• It is reciprocal: distance is only shown between two people who have both turned the feature on. If you leave it off, no one sees a distance to you, and you see none either.
• You can turn it off at any time in the app or in your device settings. Turning it off in the app deletes the stored coordinates from our servers — we do not keep a history of where you have been.

Location data is never sold, and never shared with advertisers or data brokers. Denying or revoking the permission does not restrict any other part of Janan; only the distance filter becomes unavailable.

5.Microphone & Voice Features

Janan is built around voice, so the microphone is central to several features. It is used only while you are actively using one of them — never in the background, and never while the app is closed.

• Voice messages in chat. When you record a voice message it is uploaded and stored so the person you sent it to can play it. If you send it as a one-time message, it is permanently deleted from our servers and from both devices after a single play.
• Voice Date. A short live voice call between two users. The audio is streamed in real time between the participants and is not recorded or stored by us.
• Voice rooms. Live group audio rooms. As with Voice Date, the audio is streamed live and not recorded or stored by us.

Live voice is carried by a third-party real-time audio provider acting on our behalf. We do not analyse, transcribe, profile, or sell your voice, and we do not use it for advertising. You can revoke the microphone permission at any time in your device settings; the rest of Janan continues to work, and only the voice features become unavailable.

6.Payments & Virtual Currency

Janan uses in-app coins and consumable items (boosts, super-likes, rewinds and similar). Purchases are handled by a third-party payment provider; we receive a record of the transaction but not your full payment-card details. Coins and virtual items have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable except where required by law.

7.Data Retention & Account Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app, or by emailing support@doostsho.com. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, photos, messages, matches, and wallet balance.

8.Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and limit access to it.

9.Your Rights & Choices

• Access & update: view and edit your profile information in the app at any time.
• Delete: delete your account and data as described in section 6.
• Notifications: turn notification types on or off in Settings, or via your device.
• Privacy controls: block users, report abuse, and choose whether unverified users can see your profile.

10.Age Requirement

Janan is strictly for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has created an account, we will remove it. If you believe a minor is using Janan, please contact us immediately.

11.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Janan after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
